Triggerfinger is a three piece rock band from Antwerp, Belgium that formed in 1998.  They have released 3 albums.  The single “I Follow Rivers” is a cover orginally sung by Swedish recording artist Lykke Li.  The Triggerfinger cover is #1 in Belgium as well as Netherlands this week.

dEUS are an alternative rock band that formed in 1991 in Antwerp.  They started out as a cover band, then began writing their own material.  They released their debut album Worst Case Scenario in 1994, In a Bar Under the Sea in 1996 and The Ideal Crash in 1999 – by this time they had gained a cult following.  The band released three more albums the latest being Keep You Close in 2011.   October 2011, the band won the “Best Belgian Act” award at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

This indie/alternative band formed in 1993 in Antwerp, originally called Beatband, then Moondog Jr. until finally they changed their name to Zita (intense) Swoon (desire).  They have released five albums under the Zita Swoon name.   This year they released a new album Wait for Me under the name Zita Swoon Group.

CREATURE WITH THE ATOM BRAIN

This alternative rock band started in 2004.  After two EPs, the band released their first full length album on March 24, 2008, entitled I am the Golden Gate Bridge.  In 2009 they released Transylvania.  They have been working on their new album The Birds Fly Low due for release in April 2012.

Wouter De Baker, also known by his stage name Goyte was born in Bruges, Belgium, but moved to Melbourne, Australia at a young age.  He has released three studio albums, Boardface in 2003, Like Drawing Blood in 2006 and Making Mirrors in 2011.  He has had huge success with the single “Somebody I Used to Know” featuring New Zealand musician Kimbra, off of the Making Mirrors album.  He has won numerous awards and this single has reached #1 in many countries.

K’s Choice (Belgium)

K’S CHOICE

This rock band from Antwerp formed in 1994.   The bands core members are siblings Sarah Bettens (lead vocals, guitar) and Gert Bettens (guitar, keyboard, vocals). They are joined by Eric Grossman (bass), Thomas Vanelslander (lead guitar), Reinout Swinnen (keys) and Koen Liekens (drums).  In 1996 they released their second album Paradise in Me.  The single “Not an Addict” was successful and brought the band international fame.  K’s Choice released four more albums, the latest was Little Echoes in 2011, which is an acoustic CD.  This is a band with a lot of talent and lead singer Sarah Bettens has a beautiful smokey sounding voice.

ABSYNTHE MINDED

This band started out as a man man band in 1999 in Ghent.  Absynthe Minded is now a five piece band.  They released their debut full length album in 2004.  In 2005 they released New Day, the first single off of this album gained airplay.  In 2009 they recorded their third album There is Nothing.  They had two singles off this album “Envoi” and “Moodswing Baby”.  The band has announced they are working on an album for release this year.  This band has a great sound and I hope their new album will be released internationally.
